Installing Quick-Screw hidden hangers

These are made for 5-inch and 6-inch aluminum K-style gutters, and they fit vinyl and plastic K-style too. One tool does the whole job: a 1/4-inch nut driver. Every Made in USA pack includes a free 1/4-inch magnetic driver bit for your drill.

Step 1 — Work out your spacing

Install a hanger every 18 to 24 inches along the length of the gutter. Go closer on long unsupported runs, and anywhere that carries heavy snow.

Step 2 — Fit the hooked end

Fit the hooked end — the end without the screw — tightly into the gutter nose, the rolled front lip. It should seat firmly without forcing.

Step 3 — Clip the screw end

Clip the screw end to the back wall of the gutter and press down firmly until it seats. The bracket is self-bracing: once both ends are engaged it holds its own position while you get the driver on it.

Step 4 — Drive it home

Drive the pre-fitted screw through the back of the gutter, through the fascia, and into the rafter end behind it. The rafter is what carries the load — fascia board on its own will not hold a full gutter. Keep the driver square and stop when the head seats. Overdriving pulls the bracket out of line.

A few things worth knowing

  • Made for aluminum. These are designed for aluminum K-style gutters. They fit vinyl and plastic K-style too — the K-style profile is what matters, not the material.
  • Check the fascia first. Rotted or soft fascia will not hold any hanger, whatever it is made of. Replace the board before you hang anything on it.
  • Sagging gutters. The bracket is designed to pull a sagging run back up as you drive it. Work along the run rather than starting at the low point.
  • Nothing shows. The bracket sits behind the gutter lip, so from the ground the finished run reads as one clean line.
